Welcome to Mrs. Grinold's combined third and fourth grade class!
Bridgewater Village School is a great place to teach! I moved to Vermont from Arizona five years ago to live closer to my family. Vermont is an incredibly special place, but I still care deeply for the desert of the southwest. Rutland is now my home with my husband, Peter, and children, Sam and Grace. Grace is a junior in high school and Sam attends college in Vermont. We have an Australian Cattle dog named Boomer and a leopard gecko named “Riley”. I love to be anywhere near the lakes or ocean in the summer. One can usually find me on Cape Cod, Block Island, or kayaking on the Chittenden Dam. As a teacher, I strive to create a respectful classroom where students can feel comfortable in their individual learning styles. Students help create a learning pledge that includes standards of conduct for the classroom. This pledge is referred to throughout the year. The children are reminded to respect the right to learn of every student and to celebrate our unity and individuality.
Language Arts
Grammar, usage, and mechanics are taught with the Open Court materials and Writer's Express. Students write reports, essays, and narratives throughout the year. |
